RAPE & SEXUAL ASSAULT AFFILIATE + SOUTHERN CRESCENT SEXUAL ASSAULT & ADVOCACY CENTER
Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center offers a variety of services including a 24 hour crisis line, forensic medical services, medical and legal accompaniment, counseling, and education.
SCSAC-CAC offers support for anyone who has been raped, sexually assaulted, sexually harassed or sexually abused recently or in the past. We also provide support to victims of child abuse and their non-offending caregivers. Trained volunteer or staff counselors respond immediately to crisis calls, providing support to callers as well as referrals to community resources. These short-term counseling services are also available to family and friends of survivors.
All services are free of charge and we do not discriminate against individuals or groups on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, immigration status, or disability.
24-Hour Confidential Crisis Line
The crisis line is answered 24 hours a day by trained professional staff. The crisis line is available to provide assistance in emergency situations.
Forensic Medical Exams
Southern Crescent Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center (SCSAC-CAC) has a team of Registered Nurses who are equipped with a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner specialization to offer expert medical collection as well as support to survivors during medical examinations.
Medical Accompaniment
SCSAC-CAC has a team of trained volunteers and staff who are equipped to offer support to survivors during medical examinations. At the Hampton Facility, the crisis responder will explain the procedures, the options available to the survivor and helpful resources. In the immediate aftermath of rape, survivors face a host of emotional, medical and legal decisions. SCSAC-CAC holds in highest regards the survivor's right to make his/her own decisions and provides the necessary information and support regardless of our personal beliefs or values. A crisis responder can provide information to assist the survivors in making the best possible choices for themselves.
